Horse Riding / Livery

Why not combine a stay in the country with some horse riding?  Contained within the grounds we have top-class facilities from Bourne Valley Livery for horses and their riders including a modern American barn, hot-water shower system, menage and a horse walker.

The famous Highclere Horse Trials are held within easy reach at Highclere Castle, and if you are competing, our facilities are perfect for you and your horse to reach the competition in top form!

 

 

Highclere Castlehclogo

Recently famous as the setting for Downton Abbey, Highclere Castle has a rich history and is recognised as one of England's most beautiful Victorian Castles. They have a very full event and exhibition schedule which can be seen on the Highclere Castle website.

The Hawk Conservancy

Top class facilities with a prize of an American Bald Eagle, you can also book a private party to include drinks on arrival and demonstrations of flying a variety of birds, a personalised guided tour of the whole site, and the opportunity to fly Harris Haws from your hand.  See the Hawk Conservancy website for more details.

Mottisfont

A tranquil rural estate near Romsey is  Mottisfont.  A place set in glorious grounds alongside the fast-flowing River Test where there are many layers of history for the visitor to explore, including the Gothic remains of the original 13th-century Augustinian priory.

The New Forestnewforest

The Gurkha Museum

Also in Winchester. the Gurkha Museum tells the moving and unique story of Gurkha service to the British Crown and its people for nearly 200 years.
